The Setup tab is the starting point for configuring a Workflow in Nexadata. It allows you to define the Workflow's name, provide a description, and view the Output Columns that represent the final structure of your data. While simple in appearance, this tab plays an important role in aligning your Workflow's identity and expected output.

Workflow Details

  • Name
This is the required title for your Workflow. It helps identify the Workflow across the platform and within your project or team.

  • Description
Use this optional field to provide additional context about the Workflow's purpose, data sources, or use case. A good description makes it easier for team members to understand what the Workflow does, especially in environments with multiple Workflows.

Make sure to click Save after entering or editing the name and description.

Output Columns in Workflow Setup

The Output Columns section gives you a read-only snapshot of the final structure of your Workflow’s output. These columns are automatically defined by the Output Pipeline that you tag as Primary.

  • When you first create a Workflow, this section will be empty.

  • Once an Output Pipeline is added and set as the Primary Output Pipeline, the Output Columns will appear here based on the pipeline’s configuration.

The Output Columns determine how data will be structured when it leaves the Workflow—this includes the field names and data types that downstream systems or reports will consume.

How to Modify Output Columns

To make changes to Output Columns, such as adding or removing fields, renaming them, or updating data types, you must edit the Primary Output Pipeline directly.

⚠️ Note: Output Columns cannot be edited from the Setup tab. This section is strictly for viewing the current structure and serves as a reference point for what the Workflow will produce.
