Interactive Connection Testing

Instantly test any Nexadata connection to confirm credentials and endpoints work—get real-time feedback before saving.

Updated over a week ago

Interactive Connection Testing lets you confirm that your Nexadata connection is working before you save it. No more blind saves or failed runs due to expired tokens or incorrect credentials.

How it works

Click Test Connection after entering your connection details. Nexadata instantly checks your credentials and endpoint, and returns a success or error message (in real time).

If something’s off—like an invalid API key, expired token, or incorrect URL—you’ll get specific feedback to help you fix it.

Visual confirmation

Once a connection is successfully tested, you'll see a green shield icon next to the Submit button.

You can hover over the shield to see the exact time the credentials were last verified.

Supported authentication types

  • Basic Auth (username + password)

  • API Key (simple token validation)

  • OAuth (real-time token exchange and permission check)

Benefits

  • Avoid failed runs caused by expired or incorrect credentials

  • Get clear error messages while setting up your connection

  • Troubleshoot authentication issues before they cause workflow problems

Steps to test a connection

  1. Open a new or existing connection

  2. Enter the required authentication details

  3. Click Test Connection

  4. Review the result and update as needed

  5. Save once the test passes
